Congratulations to Amir Kucharski, Dr. Caitlin Scott, and Professor Pete Kekenes-Huskey on the acceptance of their manuscript to the Journal of Physical Chemistry B. The manuscript, titled "Understanding Ion Binding Affinity and Selectivity in beta-Parvalbumin using Molecular Dynamics and Mean Spherical Approximation Theory," will be published in a special edition "Festschrift" in honor of Professor Andrew McCammon, Professor Kekenes-Huskey's former postdoctoral advisor. The abstract is below!

Congratulations to Dr. Caitlin Scott, whom has been selected to give a talk about her research in the PKH lab at the Clarkson Early Career Colloquium in Chemistry!  The event will be held from June 8-10 at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.  Nice job! 

First year graduate student Bin Sun was awarded the Kentucky Opportunity Fellowship!  Bin's research focuses on molecular and Markov modeling of calcium binding protein function.

Congratulations to undergraduate researcher Amir Kucharski, who will present his poster, "Understanding Ion Binding Affinity and Selectivity in Beta Parvalbumin Using Molecular Dynamics and Mean Sphere Approximation Theory." This year, the 30th NCUR meeting will be held at its original location, UNC-Asheville, which also happens to be where Professor Kekenes-Huskey did his undergraduate work! Tangentially, Amir's clinical research poster, "Ultrasound Guided Iliolumbar Ligament Injection as a Diagnostic Work-up of Low Back Pain," was also accepted!
